Applesauce (ninja foodi)

Ingredients

  • 4 Large granny smith apples- peeled and sliced
  • 4 Large honey crisp apples- peeled and sliced
    • You can use other apples, just use 8. McIntosh, Fuji, Red or Golden Delicious work well.
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3/4 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Cup water
  • ~2 Tbs brown sugar (for a sweeter applesauce)

Directions

  1. Pour water, lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar (if used) into pot and stir.
  2. Put in apple slices.
  3. Stir until apple slices are coated in the mixture.
  4. Put on pressure cooker lid, ensuring that it is sealed.
  5. Turn on Foodi, set to “pressure cook” and set to 8 minutes.
  6. Once done let it naturally release for 5 minutes, then quick release the remainder.
  7. Remove lid. Follow below for different textures.
    1. Chunky – simply stir.
    2. Semi-smooth – mash with a plastic potato masher
    3. Smooth – transfer to a blender or use an immersion blender.
